Melvyn Richardson

Bio from RCFE Resource – Specialized in Senior Living Facilities

Melvyn D. Richardson was  honored to serve his country in the United States Army from 1964-1966 as a member of the 54th Signal Battalion, where he was deployed as a radio operator. He is a proud Vietnam Veteran and the recipient of the National Defense, Vietnam Service, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross and Vietnam Campaign ribbons.

After his military service, Melvyn attended Los Angeles Trade Technical College and University of Copenhagen, where he received advanced degrees in photography. Melvyn had a successful career as an entertainment photographer, memorializing some of rock music’s greatest legends. He later entered real estate as a mortgage banker, then transitioned into a career as a residential real estate agent with Keller Williams.  He then moved into commercial real estate, with a focus on the senior residential care industry.

Melvyn has a home in Laguna Niguel, CA, where he has resided for over 30 years.

Editor’s Note

At East High, Melvyn played the baritone horn in the school’s impressive band. Here’s a clip of the horn section from the 1960 yearbook photo.

Melvyn has sent copies of some favorite photographs he made of musical Legends of the 70’s. Coming soon: we hope to publish his photos on the Gallery page.

The “Tribute to Army Veterans” published on this website on 11/11/20 has been updated to include Melvyn Richardson’s service. You can read the Veterans postings by going to Community Page’s Categories and scrolling down to Veterans.

Thank you for sharing this, Melvyn. I am looking forward to seeing some of your photographs, whether musical legends or otherwise. Photography is a very expressive art form that I immensely enjoy. David Kroenlein
