Jim Pickett, 1942-2007
Obituary:
James Augustus Pickett II was born in Odessa, Texas, to the late Charles and Katherine Pickett. He departed his life in Nashville, Tennessee, on January 3, 2007 after a strong fight with cancer.
He leaves behind his beloved and cherished wife Elizabeth Pickett. He also leaves his children Elizabeth, Jennifer, Julia, and Jay along with two beautiful grandchildren, Ellie and Thad, who will miss him dearly.
The descendant of original pioneers at El Paso, Kansas, his journey in life began as a young man employed with Beech Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas. Jim lived many years in Wichita as Vice-President of Air Midwest Airlines. He then moved to Nashville and made a name for himself as the Top Salesman at The Men’s Warehouse. Those who knew him will always remember his vibrant charisma and unique passion for life.
Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers charitable donations may be made to Vanderbilt Research Cancer Center, Head and Neck Clinic, Nashville, Tennessee. Eastland Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Nashville, Tennessee.
