Betty Carroll Howard, 1942-2020
Betty L. Carroll Howard, age 78, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
She was born March 19, 1942, in Vilonia, Arkansas, the daughter of Lonnie and Viola (Goodnight) Carroll. On November 23, 1960, she was united in marriage to Dennis Howard.
Betty grew up and received her education in Wichita, Kansas, where she graduated from East High School in 1960. Throughout her life she worked at Travelers Insurance, Boeing and Archer, from which she retired in 2008. After retirement she and Dennis moved to the lake area to make their home. Some of her favorite pastimes were singing, playing guitar and crocheting.
Preceding her in death were her parents and siblings, Eva, Johnie and Florene.
Betty is survived by her husband Dennis; two daughters, Vinell Howard of Shell Knob, Missouri, and Regina Dodd (Michael) of Wichita, Kansas; one grandson, Shayne Howard of Wichita, Kansas; and four great-grandchildren, Dakoda, Zackery, Shiana and Konnor.
Graveside services will be held at Lake Park Memorial Gardens in Shell Knob, under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Shell Knob. Pastor Trent Huse will conduct the services.
