Howard Brainerd, 1942 – 2021
Howard “Howie” Ray Brainerd, age 78, of Hendersonville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, June 22,2021 in Gallatin, Tennessee. Howie was born in Kansas and was the son of the late Wilbur and Rozella McCloud Brainerd.
Howie loved to play golf, fish, shoot pool with his buddies, and play trivia with family and friends at Swaney Swifts on Thursday nights. He enjoyed mission trips to Guatemala, Mexico, Haiti, and Cuba. Howie loved life and always embraced new experiences.
An industrial engineer, Howie’s professional work combined engineering, architecture, and planning. The photo at right appeared in the Nashville newspaper in 1987 when he was selected as V-P for Industrial Client Development for a Nashville firm.
Mr. Brainerd is survived by his wife Kay Brainerd; son Bill Brainerd; daughter Shannon Stevens (William); sister Nancy Siebert; grandchildren Alison, Will, Katie, Kyle, Bailey and Evan; great-grandchildren Nicole, Noah, Christian and Jefferson.
A Celebration of Life for Mr. Brainerd will be held at 1pm on the afternoon of Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on the morning of Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 11am-1pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home.
