Yes, the score is correct. You can use it when you are sharing jokes with your North High friends.
At the end of the first quarter, East led 30 to 0. At the end of the second quarter East led 68 to 0, and the final score was East 88, North 0.
As one would assume, all statistics were equally lopsided. For example, in the first quarter alone, East had 268 total yards and North had 5 total yards. Also, in that first quarter, East scored 4 touchdowns and was successful on 3 of 4 two-point conversions.
East capitalized on interceptions (1 in the first quarter and 2 in the second quarter) as it unleashed its scoring blitz against the hapless North High team. (They weren’t the “Redskins” any more. The North High mascot was officially dropped by the school board in February of 2021.) Oh, and in the second quarter, East High returned a North High punt for 75 yards.
Celebrating this score, we might think that the East High juggernaut went undefeated in 2021. That was not the case. In fact, East lost three games in 2021 and the loss to
Wichita Northwest was 56 to nothing.
