Diane Rusch Zinn, Gallery Editor
The Gallery page on the 1960 Virtual Reunion Website offers a growing collection of memorabilia supplied by our classmates. Thousands of artifacts of our lives that have been gathered over the decades have been deposited here, from elementary school class photos and high school news clippings to personal collections and artistic creations. Fortunately, these historical items are not just piled in the website’s attic. Gallery Editor and born organizer Diane Rusch Zinn has assembled galleries, albums, and collections for us.
Work on the Gallery page began in August 2020, when Barb Hammond (left) sent more than 800 photos and other artifacts that she had collected from classmates, including boxes of ephemera from Janice Collins Bailey. As a professional archivist and a fine amateur photographer, Barb had digitized the collection. That is, she converted each piece from a physical item like a photo in hand to a computer format that could be posted online. Another born organizer, Barb had also categorized most of the photos. The results of her efforts found a home on the Class of 1960 website. Over the past 18 months, Diane and the website team have nearly tripled the contents of the Gallery.
