Barb, I love the story about the friend’s Christmas tradition! Reading your article was a super delight because I went to Sunday School with Marilyn Ash for years, and am very happy to see these pictures! The season always seemed magical for as long as I remember. Sometimes the magic was just that I got to see cousins, aunts and uncles. My father was one of eight siblings and my mother was one of eleven! My 36 first cousins have exploded exponentially and are all over the US. For Christmas and other seasons we usually have some visiting in the area. Now we have started zooming a cousins’ reunion. And, of course at this age I have 10 grandchildren, 3 significant others, and 1 great grandchild. Then I always prepare extra in the case another significant other shows up!
Glenna, thank you for your comment. You are always so prompt to read and respond to each personal article. I love that you do that and I’m sure everyone appreciates hearing from you. Your plethora of cousins sounds great and so is the Zoom reunion idea. I keep up with my cousins through Facebook because none of us have ever lived in the same town. But maybe I’ll try to organize some zooming with them (first have to learn how to host!). Best holiday wishes to you and all those kids, kidlets, and the itty bitty grand-kidlet!
PS, Marilyn Ash Barbeck is happy and well. We keep in touch, and I saw her in June and again at the class reunion.
