Bill Thompson, 1942 – 2023

William H. Thompson, 80, passed away suddenly at home in Bristol, TN on July 24, 2023. Bill was born and raised in Wichita, KS by his parents Harry and Jean Thompson and attended Wichita High 

School East. (Right, Bill in 1960) After graduating from the University of Kansas, he started a general contracting business which he relocated to Bristol, Tennessee in 1976.

Bill was retired and enjoyed golfing and traveling with his beloved wife of 47 years, Diane (Crowl) Thompson.

Including Diane, survivors are sons Trey and Ward (Tammi); grandson Ryan of Omaha, NE; sister Judy O’Brien (Tom) of Vail CO, children Kathy, Michelle, and Michael; sister-in-law Iva Jean Crowl of Tulsa OK, children David, Doug (Lori) and Donna (Brad); niece Denise Krueger (Dave) of Missoula MT as well as many beloved great nieces and nephews. Bill was loved dearly by friends and family and will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service was held Sunday July 30, 2023, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Oakley-Cook Funeral Home, with a Celebration of Life following in the Rose Room of Oakley-Cook.
