Bob Bohling, 1942-2022
Bob Bohling was a great friend to many of us. He passed away on May 27, 2022 in Wichita.
Jake Jacobs and Janet Hotsapillar Elder stayed in touch with Bob after high school and especially in the last few years. They are part of a group of 1960 Aces who get together regularly for coffee and conversation. Bob was occasionally part of the group. Jake and Janet spent time recently talking about Bob over coffee at Panera in Wichita and sent the following notes.
I sure will miss Bob. I always looked forward receiving his Christmas cards. It was so good visiting with him at our reunions. Years back, Donna and I were invited to his home and were amazed to see his collection of antiques. Bob was such a good-hearted fellow. I didn’t know Bob was sick, but I should have known something was wrong when we didn’t receive a Christmas card last year. When his picture showed up today on our website with the notes from Jake and Janet announcing Bob’s passing, I’m feeling very sad. I’m thankful that Jake and Janet were close to Bob. Heaven picked up a good one!

I enjoyed his stories of his Vegas trips, his home, and running mail or parts service around Boeing. He always had a great Christmas card and was a live wire. I really admired his collecting, which I’d heard about but never got to see. Very glad he helped out cats. Many did not treat him well at Roosevelt or East. He kept a great spirit going.
Bob was always friendly, and I looked forward to his annual Christmas cards and presents. We will miss him at our reunions… if we ever have any! BTW, I had forgotten how attractive Janet was!
Bob was always Bob. I was sad to just learn of his passing. Always fun to be with him and hear his stories! Bob will be missed 🙏🏻 by all of us.
