Thoughts on Turning 80 – Part 3

Jane Thompson Olson –

Yes, it is rather difficult to believe that we are all going to be eighty (80) by year’s end. I’m not really dreading the 13th of October as I move into a new decad, as much as I will be rejoicing the 80 years of Living! Happy that I’m healthy and loving my life.

I like to think of Aging as another word for Living. And living is what my husband and I are doing everyday as we continue our adventures in our little house on wheels. Our travels are usually on the “blue highways,” where real living is happening. We pull over to read historical markers, stop for lunch at a local diner,  visit with the folks and take in all the sights. Along the way we stop to see friends, relatives and places we’ve always wanted to see. These experiences always give us a new perspective about life.

(Right, Jane stopped to visit Kay Brinnon Alldritt in Colorado on May 5, 2022)

Make each day count, love the one you’re with, live like there are no tomorrows. Everyday, make someone smile. Give thanks. So many good people out there with interesting stories to share. Everyday is an adventure: new location, new people, new scenery, new challenges, new choices, new weather, new memories, New Day!!

We are so fortunate to have opportunities to travel. We’re doing our best to make everyday a day worth LIVING.
