Janice Gooch Eppley
DAVENPORT-Janice F. Eppley, 80, of Davenport, IA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 12, 2022 at her home. Per her wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.
Janice was born on April 10, 1942 to William and Beulah (Wright) Gooch in Waldenburg, AR. She was educated in
Wichita, Kansas, and graduated from East High School in 1960. On December 29, 1961, she was united in marriage to Art Eppley in Wichita. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2006. Janice was employed as a beautician for many years and then as a manager at the Charthouse Restaurant in Fairport, IA. After retiring, she and Art moved to Florida where they lived for 20 years.
Janice loved spending time with her family, attending family events, and most of all spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She also enjoyed the outdoors and going boating.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Renee (Mike) Carter, Davenport, IA; Cheryl (Greg) Sixta, Blue Grass, IA; and Mike (Suzanne) Eppley, Le Roy, IL; grandchildren: Tony, Dann, Dave, Justin, Chris, Leah, and Jackson; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Carl Gooch, AZ; along with three nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Art; brother, William Harvey, Jr.; and son-in-law, Richard Hebbel.
