Johnny Stevens, Shaping Wichita

Johnny Stevens

Editor’s Note: Thanks to Ric Knorr for letting us know about this significant award Johnny recently received.  We remember him as an outstanding golfer, but his talents extend far beyond the sporting world.

Text of the Award

For more than 50 years, Johnny Stevens has transformed underutilized industrial properties across the U.S. into thriving assets. He has developed over 7 million square feet of warehouse and industrial space and currently owns and operates more than 3 million square feet of facilities. His impact shines in Wichita through projects such as the Air Capitol Flight Line – redevelopment of the former Boeing facility; the Kansas Coliseum, now a Wichita State University research hub;  the Waterfront, a 160-acre mixed use development; and Willowbend Golf Club, a premier residential community. From industrial innovation to lifestyle development, Johnny Stevens’ legacy is defined by vision, tenacity, and transformation – revitalizing spaces, creating opportunities, and shaping the future of Wichita and beyond.
