Sam Lindeman, 1960
Below, Sam Lindeman describes The Lunch Bunch. The photos belong to 1960 versions of recent attendees at the 1960 Lunch Bunch.
Since I started attending we have not been to the same place twice. That is what makes it interesting. We have tried everything from Mexican, pizza, hamburgers, full restaurants and next month I believe we are going to Hoof & Horn, a steak house. (Left, Mary (Mert) Lancaster Curtis)
The topics we discuss are wide ranging and include health, family, travel, work experience, other classmates, and about any other topic you could dream up. Most of the time several discussions are going on at the same time as is normal when there are more than three or four people. (Right, Gerald “Jake” Jacobs)
I personally would like to see this group grow. Covid really affected the group, which is about half the size it was before Covid. We have found it hard to get the word out and appreciate help in spreading the word. (Left, Pearline Blackmon Smith)
If you, Dear Reader, would like to attend, send a note to Fred, Diane, or Marilyn (contact info below) and they will put us in touch. (Right, Dick Caspari and Jim Banks)
Also attending The Lunch Bunch recently was Merle Lewis. No photo available, but Merle and the others are the real things, still with us and having lunch in Wichita once a month.
