Merle Lewis, 1942-2025
Merle Lewis, a retired Beechcraft Machinist, passed away June 8, 2025 in Rose Hill KS. Merle grew up in Wichita, Kansas and graduated from East High School in 1960.
He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Fern Lewis; daughter, Stephanie Lewis; brothers, Paul and Rex Lewis; daughter-in-law, Angela Lewis.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Lewis of Rose Hill; sons, Thomas (Laurie) Lewis of Wichita, James Lewis of Derby, Andrew Lewis of Brooklyn NY; daughter, Brianna (Tim) Becker of Wichita; grandchildren, Tate Becker, Grace Becker, Evelyn Lewis, Lena Lewis, Cade Becker, Alexander Lewis, Lauren Lewis.
He served in the Army after basic training with the 100th Division in Ft. Chaffee, Arkansas. He married Patricia on August 26, 1966.
Merle ‘s death came from a bad fall. He regularly met with the Wichita Lunch Bunch group.
Rosary will be at 7 PM Friday, June 13, 2025. Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM Saturday June 14, both at St. Vincent Catholic Church.
