Cordia Halsted Pearman, 1942-2013

Cordia (Halsted) Pearman, 71, departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior on October 04, 2013, at home, after a year- long battle with cancer. She was born on May 28, 1942. to Lonnie and Perna (Duncan) Halsted in the Oak Hill Community in Searcy County, Arkansas. She was the seventh of ten children.

Cordia met Heyward Pearman in Wichita, Kansas, and there they married on January 16, 1960. Cordia owned and operated Air Capital Secretarial Service in Wichita for many years. They lived in Wichita until 1976, when they decided to move to Mountain View, Arkansas, with their two children, and make it their home. She attended the Church of the Living God in Mountain View.

Cordia is survived by her husband of over 53 years. Two children: daughter Mardena Pearman and son Darren Pearman of Mountain View, Arkansas; two grandsons: Joshua and wife Ryann Lumbley and Dylan Dayberry of Mountain View, Arkansas; and two great-grandsons, Austin Lumbley of Kempner, Texas, and Kristian Lumbley of Mountain View, Arkansas.

Cordia is also survived by three brothers: Alpha Halsted, Marshall, Arkansas; Arlen Halsted , Morning Star, Arkansas; Audrey Halsted, Landis, Arkansas; and one sister, Sybil Treat of Springdale, Arkansas. She is also survived by a very large number of nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and nephews.

Cordia was preceded in death by her parents, beloved granddaughter Kelli Avey of Newnata, Arkansas; three sisters: Gladys Halsted, Willie Mae Watts, and Opal Harris; and two brothers: Elmer and P.J. Halsted.

Cordia had a strong and abiding love, faith, and devotion to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She could never get enough of the Word of God and loved to share her faith and minister to people. She loved her family, and she loved her flowers.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. ,Tuesday October 08, 2013, at Roller Coffman Chapel in Marshall with Brother Lee Clark officiating. Burial in Canaan Cemetery, Marshall, Arkansas.
