Skip Granger, Christmas Cheer, 1984 and 2003

Skip Granger Doing a Holiday Magic Show, 1960

– Wichita Eagle Photo

In 1984, when our kids were 4 and 6, our neighbor invited the four of us over for some Christmas Eve cheer .  None of us had much money, but he had gone hog wild at Neiman Marcus in San Francisco, so we felt compelled to imbibe and enjoy the season!  We walked home a bit late and put the kids to bed.  Then I began to assemble Trey’s gift… a trap drum set.  How the kids slept through the noise, we’ll never know.

By Christmas 2003, we were making wine at Starry Night Winery. Our daughter Amanda was home from UCLA.

Trey was still at Syracuse U, so Amanda helped us with getting the tree up. Then, we put Amanda  to work at the winery. Christmas was wine-making time for us.
