Elaine Hill Sunde, An Alaskan Christmas Memory

Elaine Hill Sunde

On my island home in Alaska, groceries arrived by barge (weather permitting). We waited eagerly for the weekly barge carrying milk or canned goods. We waited with most excitement for the barge that arrived only once a year, carrying little boxes of Christmas clementines. Woe be the Christmas stocking that didn’t have a clementine in the toe!
