The Forum in the 1940’s

Perhaps you remember the Wichita Forum and its associated Annex.  Here are some of the acts that appeared at the Forum:

1. Louis Armstrong – The jazz icon performed at the Wichita Forum on March 18, 1933, showcasing his legendary trumpet skills.
2. Duke Ellington – The renowned bandleader and composer entertained audiences at the Wichita Forum on September 15, 1941, with his sophisticated jazz arrangements.
3. Judy Garland – The beloved actress and singer dazzled audiences at the Wichita Forum on November 12, 1945, showcasing her incredible vocal talent.
4. Elvis Presley – The King of Rock and Roll performed at the Wichita Forum on October 7, 1955, marking a pivotal moment in his rising career.
5. Johnny Cash – The iconic country singer graced the stage of the Wichita Forum on April 26, 1958, captivating audiences with his deep baritone voice.
6. The Rolling Stones – This legendary rock band performed at the Wichita Forum on June 4, 1964, during their early years, energizing the crowd with their electrifying performance.

Perhaps you were also in the Annex for a Boy Scout Jamboree, or some other show.  The Forum and its associated Annex hosted many interesting things during our time – and well before our time.  It was built in 1911, so it saw some real shows before we started going to the Forum.
