William Ross Shelton II, age 74, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born in Harrisonville, Mo., April 14, 1942, to William and Miriam (nee Runnenburger) Shelton. He was employed with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for 23 years and retired in 1990.

William was preceded in death by his father, William Ross Shelton; mother, Miriam Shelton; stepmother, Polly Shelton; wife, Marie Annette Shelton; and sister, Judith King. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Shelton; children, Dawn Marie Shelton and Twila Merriam Ballen and her husband, Jay; three sisters, Linda Council, Honey Shelton and Susie Dodge; two grandsons, Justin Ballen, William Ross Shelton, III; and two granddaughters, Tayler Ballen, Tacey Ballen. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Southbrook Christian Church 9095 Washington Church Rd Miamisburg, Ohio, with Pastor Ryan Massey officiating.
