Jane Windsor Just, 1942-2018

Jane Windsor Just, 1942-2018

Jane Windsor Just, 75, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on April 20, 2018 in Phoenix, Arizona. Jane was born in Wichita, Kansas on July 17, 1942 to the late Leland and Millicent Windsor. Jane graduated Wichita High School East in 1960 and her concern for others lead her into nursing; becoming a certified nursing aide and then graduating from St. Francis Hospital School as an X-ray technician in 1964.

Jane married the love of her life, Glen Just, in 1963 and they lived together in Bel Aire, Kansas before relocating to Phoenix in 1987. Jane split her time between caring for her family and working at Wesley Medical Center early in her career. After Wesley, she began working for the Wichita Urology Group and moved on to the Mid-Kansas Ear, Nose & Throat in Wichita as an x-ray technician until retiring in Phoenix.

Although retired, her desire to help others inspired her to volunteer for the Red Cross, Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, and Arrowhead Hospital where she delighted in both meeting and helping people from all over the world. Of all places though, she loved Ireland the most and often volunteered at the Irish Cultural Center. In 2000 Jane fulfilled her dream of visiting Ireland which enhanced her love for the land and its culture.

While Jane loved meeting new people, she most cherished her time with her family and friends. Jane would happily spend hours talking about her family and friends, how their children, grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews were doing and pass that information along to the rest of the family. This passion lead to an interest in family genealogy where she spent many hours delving into the past, always excited to find something new about her family. In this vein, she kept cherished keepsakes as reminders of special events for future generations.

Jane is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Glen Just of Phoenix; her son Wayne Just of Rio Rancho; her daughter Debbie Lane (Mark) of Phoenix; her granddaughter Kelsie Lane of Phoenix; step-granddaughters Katie Morgan (Ryan) of Poway, and Jennie Slaughter (Robert) of Colorado Springs; her brother Samuel Windsor (Erma) of Orcas Island; sister Arlene Wright (Charles) of Kissimmee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and step great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary Wednesday, May 9th with a gathering at 10:00am and service at 11:00am in Phoenix, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Westminster Village Foundation at Westminster Village in Scottsdale, Arizona; Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, Arizona; the American Diabetes Foundation; or the John Wayne Foundation.
