Remembering Marilyn Fletcher Verdier

Marilyn Fletcher Verdier, 1942-96

Jane Glotfelty Rhoads:  Marilyn was a delightful, caring person, and a wonderful violinist, playing in the East High Orchestra, Wichita Youth Symphony and  numerous quartets. She then attended Wichita University where she majored in music and met Bernard Verdier.  They had one child, a son.  Marilyn continued playing in orchestras and teaching until her death.

Editor’s Note: While attending WSU, Marilyn was a member of Angel Flight, an auxiliary drill team for Air Force ROTC.

Marilyn and I were classmates from Sunnyside Elementary through high school. My memory is of her quiet and gentleness.
