Don Lowe, Beautiful Kansas Sunflowers

I planted these beautiful sunflowers from a seed packet. Last year I did the same, and after a few weeks the plants started sprouting from the planter and in a month or so they grew to over six feet tall!

This year I did the same in two big wooden planters, but when the plants grew to three feet tall,  a couple of squirrels got into the planter and broke two of my plants.

The sunflower is one of my favorite flowers. One reason is that when I joined the Kansas Army National Guard, our unit patch on our left shoulder was the sunflower 🌻.

A couple of neighbors have noticed these tall flowers in my yard and asked how I did it.

I had help from Mother Nature is my answer.
