
Emma Kay Douglas Swanson
Emma Kathryn Swanson, 83 of Wichita, KS passed away on January 26, 2026. She was a wonderful woman, wife, mother and grandmother who was always thinking of ways to make life better for others.

She was born May 17th, 1942 in Wichita, KS and was preceded in death by her parents Helen Houdek and Ralph Douglas, and siblings Jan Kelty and Duane Douglas. She graduated from Wichita East High School with the Class of 1960.
On September 25th, 1962 she married her beloved husband of 59 years, Lonnie Swanson, then became an Executive Secretary for Bank of America. Affectionately known as “Kay,” Emma had a special fondness for all animals and music, especially the voice of Elvis Presley.
She is survived by her daughters Stacie Crass and Stephanie Qasim (Emad Qasim), granddaughter Alexis Crass (Guillermo Caro Sanchez), grandsons Malik Qasim, Jace Crass and Jad Qasim. Funeral services were held at Botanica, Lotus Room, on Thursday February 12th at 11:30 am.
