Jerry Jones, 1941-2013
Jerold R. “Jerry” Jones, 72, passed away on March 31, 2013, at home. Born August 14, 1941, in Butler, MO, he was the son of Ralph Dee and Beulah Marjorie Jones. He was raised in Wichita, graduated from Wichita East High School, served in the Air Force, and then worked at Cessna and Yingling Aircraft.
In 1981, Jerry moved to Gunnison, Colorado where he worked as an A&P mechanic for TransColorado Airlines, for himself, and for Gunnison Valley Aviation.
He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, loved four-wheeling, and was a member of the Gunnison Sportsman’s Association and the NRA.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Angela Blevins of Wichita; daughter Allison West (Bill) of Gunnison; grandson, Sheldon Blevins of Wichita; greatgrandson, Braydon Blevins of Wichita; brother, Roger Jones of Buckeye, Arizona.
At Jerry’s request, there will be no service. Memorial donations may be made to the Gunnison Sportsman’s Association and the NRA.
